WOZNIAK SECURES FUNDS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

HARRISBURG, April 4, 2006 –
Senator John Wozniak (D-Johnstown) announced today that the Johnstown Area Regional Industries will receive $187,500 in state funds for a significant economic development project.

“I am pleased to present Johnstown Area Regional Industries with this valuable funding,” Wozniak said. “These funds will help pave the way to a bright economic future in this community.”

Wozniak said the grant will be used by the Greater Johnstown Keystone Innovation Zone to create and retain at least 85 jobs, assist approximately 35 companies and fund at least ten internships within the Zone.

The funds were provided by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) from the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority.

“It is encouraging to see DCED continue its efforts to make Pennsylvania as economically strong as other states,” Wozniak said. “It is programs like this that stimulate economic development in communities across the Commonwealth.”
